Captain America 120mm Mount Case Light

by Jeoncs

Captain America's shield on ice! I bought some usb LEDs and had an extra motherboard usb cable so I wanted to make something for my desktop. Parts: Lights https://www.amazon.com/DROK-Efficient-Brightest-Emergency-Decoration/dp/B00TGTB4HO/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1543759343&sr=8-7&keywords=usb+LED (these are not the exact ones I used so you may have to adjust the fit a little bit. I ordered mine off a Chinese site that takes months to get to you.) Cable https://www.amazon.com/USB-Internal-Motherboard-Header-Cable/dp/B01MQR5BL8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1543759427&sr=8-3&keywords=internal+usb+cable You can get cables already assembled with a port. I snipped the end on mine and soldered it directly to the LED. I printed the shield at .1 layer, 15% concentric infill. I printed the wall at .1 and 15% grid infill. The stand was printed at .3 and 10%. The Ice I wanted blue but only had clear. I snipped about a quart inch off a blue sharpie refill and ran a bunch of the filament through that. It didn't have the gradient I thought it would but the light going through the blue does the work. I printed that at .3 and 15% infill. I sanded the start down with my dremel then painted the shield. The rest I just assembled and put a little hot glue on it. The holes are set up for a 120mm fan slot. Mine ended up a bit tight so I just have it sitting in there. It looks good enough you could just do this and have it sitting on your desk as well.
