N/OO9/HOe/HOn30 Powered Bolster Wagon (Girders)

by Maridunian_Models

The Taff Vale Railway designed several short 30 ton capacity bogie bolster timber wagons that were absorbed into the Great Western Railway in 1922 and coded "Macaw G". The GWR itself produced 305 short 20 ton bogie bolster wagons, telegraphic code "Macaw H", from 1927. On nationalisation in 1948 British Railways coded all these short wagons "Bogie Bolster A" and in 1961 introduced a 32 ton version, the "Bogie Bolster E", of which 1200 examples were built. * This bodyshell has been designed to fit a Kato 11-105 powered bogie chassis. * Alternatively, this bodyshell could be fitted with ordinary bogies/trucks to use as a conventional wagon. * The models might also be suitable as generic narrow-gauge wagons for OO9 or HOe/n30 layouts. * Basic buffers and extended Rapido couplings are printed within the bodyshell and can be snapped free carefully with tweezers. * Printed vertical stakes are very fragile. Consider replacing with wire/trimmed track pins/hairbrush bristles. * Add securing chains or ropes after painting to complete. Here's a completed wagon with log load propelling an unpowered Wantage Tramway Manning-Wardle loco. https://youtu.be/GSUgjuI_z2M
