Amiga 1200 Keyboard-Fan-Mount

by astuermer

A1200 Keyboard-Fan-Mount That's NO fan-mount for the keyboard to keep it cool while typing :) It's a fan-mount for the accelerator of your A1200 which IS the keyboard-stand. The fan-mount will be mounted instead of the metal-keyboard-stand. There's a small supporting edge for the motherboard on the left side, so it won't rotate when using only one screw. It is needed to remove the metal shielding facing from the mount to the expansion slot of your Amiga 1200. This can be done easily either with a metal-scissor - or by moving it back and forth for a few minutes to "break" it at the weak point of bending :) It fits standard 30x30 mm fans used for Raspberrys or 3D printers. You can get the power from the floppy drive - either by using two grabbers for the 5V line and ground - or by using a Y-splittercable and connecting the wires to the Y-cable. * Using a 5V fan is recommended - more powerful, but loud. * It should be possible using a 12V fan too and connecting it to the 5V line, so it is nearly quiet - but less powerful. Never tried it so far. Sadly Noctua has no 30mm fans, that would be great! For example my TF1260 with Rev 5 full CPU: * Without fan I reach 50 degrees at the copper cooler after 15 mins when using demanding demos or 3D games like Quake or Doom. * With fan I barely reach 40 degrees after 30 mins.
