DIN Rail Bracket Redux

Well, I did it again. What began as a simple remix turned into a week-long project. Long story short I was trying to do a relatively simple remix but ran into issues with some oddities in the original model (example: a 10μm triangular cut made it impossible to adjust some chamfers), so I recreated it from scratch while maintaining full backward compatibility. My hope is that remixing this model will be significantly easier than the original. For now, there are three variants:Selftap: based on Fabian's original design, with holes sized to mesh with M3 threads. I added some chamfers to make it easier to get the screws started.Heatset: accepts common “Voron size” M3x5x4 brass inserts. Use this if you need to be able to remove the clip easily.Unibody: this version is practically useless on its own (unless you want to glue something to it), but can be used as a base for other designs. The selftap and heatset variants have the same hole spacing as Fabian's design (51mm), allowing either to be used with remixes of the original.ParametersParameterValueDescriptionchamfer0.4mmGlobal edge chamferselftap_hole2.8mmSelftap hole diameterheatset_hole4.6mmHeatset hole diameterheatset_height5.0mmHeatset insert heightclosed_width34mmDistance between the fixed and moving spring ends when not attached to a DIN railslide_clearance02mmClearance for slides to hold spring block in placespring_width1.6mmThickness of the spring used to grip the DIN railspring_radius0.4mmInner radius of the spring (controls pitch)ChangelogDateChanges2023-06-27Add 4.2mm heatset variant2023-07-05Add reversed variant that allows screws to be inserted from behind;Upload 3mf files for individual clips2023-11-25Add unibody-simple and unibody-short variants
