Heltec V3 Meshtastic Case GPS Battery
by tgikal
Minimal housing for a Heltec V3 Meshtastic node. The mounting and buttons are integrated into the case front. V2 has a cutout to better fit USB-C cables, V1 basically requires "extended" USB-C cables to firmly attach (Commonly used for "tough" cellphones). Printed parts: - Case Front - Case Back Purchased parts: - Heltec V3 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086ZFCV7F - GT-U7 GPS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084MK8BS2 - 103450 1800mA battery https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJPQXVZP - SS12F15 switch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09R3Y6MMN - (6) M3 x 20 bolts (Kit https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09MYDQCXX) - (6) M3 nuts The board seats by putting the USB side in first, then flexing the front and slipping the other side under the hook. Power switch can be glued or heat staked. The batteries I used required me to change the 2.0 JST to the included 1.25 JST, the polarity matched the cable included with the board. I soldered the GPS Vcc to Heltec 3.3V, GPS GND to Heltec COM, GPS TX to the Heltec pin 45, and GPS RX to Heltec pin 46. In Meshtastic's configuration, the RX pin is 45 and TX is 46.
